DAY 9

Sunrise in Manang

A Nepalese lady carries a heavy basket full of dirt.

Typical Nepali homes in Manang.  The first floor is generally used to house the livestock during the winter months.  The second and third floors are the living quarters and the roof is stacked high in the fall with fire wood and fodder for the animals.  Since it is spring, the roof tops are clean except for some unused firewood.

The main street of Manang.

These vultures are the birds we though were eagles in Temang.

The vulture head is much more visible when they are not flying.

The Thong La Hotel.  It has an internet cafe on the first floor. Bring a flashlight because even though they have to start a generator to power the computers, they don't have any light bulbs operating off the generator.

I love the Nepalese plumbing. We always splurge here and get room with attached bathrooms and a sit down toilet.  Worth the $4.28 a night.  And one of the only sit down toilets until Jomson.
