On the trail well before sunrise. Today a dog started
walking with us.
Old SPARKY stayed with us all morning,
The hill to Tal valley.
Looking back at the trail from part way up the hill to
Tal valley. The size of the mules gives you an
idea how far back they are.
Tal valley. One of the few flat spots on the Annapurna
circuit.
Looks like this Maoist sign has been hit with some
flying rocks. A possible good sign.
Plowing the field using a wooden plow blade.
Sparky is still with us!
These steps rise about 80 to 100 feet. On the map it
shows this area as flat. There are many 100-200
foot hills on the trek that don't show up on the maps
because they are 1 : 100,000 scale.
Sparky walked about halfway across the bridge, turned
around and went back.
We had been on the trail about 6 hours and here came
Sparky again. Then, about 40 minutes later along
came some Nepali porters. He wagged his tail and
departed with them. Never saw him again.
Here comes the snake man!
It is always fun to meet a mule train when crossing a
bridge this long!
We had considered staying in Karte until we saw this
flag. Let's keep going.
There's Dharapini. Just down a hill and up a bunch
of steps and we've finished day 4.
Glad the put in a new bridge, the old one doesn't look
too good.
And you thought Bill dresses weird?
We had a good stay at the Lhasa Guest house.
Good food and clean rooms. The porter has finished
the laundry. Must be time for fried noodles.
Bill has a small pot of milk tea & coconut biscuits.
