DAY 3

Nothing like a good hill before 7 am

Bill always wears some creature when trekking. One time it was a rubber chicken, another time it was a snake like this one, In Sep 06 he took a huge spider.  But, the snake was most popular and he carried several this time.  His arrival in most villages was followed by the yell "SERPA" and villagers almost always came out to see.

Typical view of rice terraces and homes on the opposite hillside.

"SERPA...SERPA"

Here comes the snake man.

Who says you need flat spots to build a small restaurant?

Drying grain in the sun.

We stayed in the International Hotel in Chyamche (also spelled Chamje). Total bill for two rooms, our dinner, mineral water and food for our porters was Rs 895 ($12.80).

Nice wallpaper.

Bill grabs a quick nap while the porter does some laundry.

A common sight.  Prayer flag blowing in the wind.
