After arriving in Siem Reap and getting settled into your hotel, it is time to arrange transportation for exploring the temples. I highly recommend tuk-tuk's over air-conditioned cars or vans. For more on transportation, click here. Once you have transportation you can go to the entrance to the Angkor Archaeological Park between 4:30 and 5:00 pm to get your passes for the next 1-3 days. After you get your pass, you can get into the complex for free between 5 pm and sunset. Most people either visit the Phnom Bakheng temple on top of the mountain just past Angkor Wat or take a hot air balloon flight to watch the sun set.

The Kids of
Angkor
My friend from the USA was a sucker for the kids. All of them that we met in the complex could really throw some English slang at you. And they didn't sell anything for less than "One doll-lah" At one place where we were mobbed, one girl offered us "Peace and Quiet is Ten Doll-lah." |
